With the advent with smartphones like Iphone and Android models it’s all too easy to access the internet and all the concerns that go with it. So good news that more carriers and phone manufacturers are getting together to make smartphone use safer for children.

So with the release of Verizon Private  IP Wireless the hope is that this new system will branch out not just for the business sector but other areas where fast and secure networking is essential whether it be in the media sector or possible public utilities including health and transport there is very little that won’t be affected, technology like this should be a kick for the rest of the big carriers to wake up and take notice.

So what doe the new phone do what’s sets this phone apart from every other phone that’s out there, well it seem that LG has put some thought into it from a user point of view. For one thing its easier to use feature’s like text phone etc. when the phone is locked which for any Iphone users is a bonus for a start (although it is possible to answer text through the locked screen). It’s also bundled with set up tutorials to help you called Guided Tours. It also come with a decent little app for business user that allows you open a variety of MS Office documents. Something I particular like is a little app called quick dialler that let you access number quickly with out have to open the dialler it self.

I mean why not wait until Windows 8 emerges and you got the same fervour that Iphone gets. Another factor as I hit upon earlier on is that 4G is the new kid on the block and most of the big four carriers are jostling for position by upgrading their infrastructure and trying to wean existing customers out of 3G onto 4G. Also 4G requires less support due to its nature.

The service enables parents to monitor and report any suspicious behaviour and be notify by email if unsuitable material is sent their child’s phone. The software is called Rated Safe. Hopefully this can implemented across a wider field with the current explosion of mobile devices anything for m Blackberrys and Iphones, Galaxys its a real jungle so any form of parental protection is a very good thing in my opinion its a shame it has taken a while for this pilot program to be introduced but better late than never.
